“ Yes, We Can! Women Overcoming Obstacles”
Dress for Success Midwest Professional Women’s Group(PWG) annually facilitates a community action project each for year two purposes: to make a difference in the community and to encourage women who have received help to give something back.
This year PWG has decided target homeless women and women re-entering society(ex-offenders). Our theme this year is” Yes we Can! Women Overcoming Obstacles.” Our goal is to encourage women to use technology for self advocacy. In addition to online efforts to provide information and resources through workshops and a one day conference to assist then in becoming self sufficient.
Dress for Success Midwest Professional Women’s Group (PWG) has partnership with First Steps Home to assist women with workshops job preparation and readiness. We are working with other various non-profit organizations to provide information about personal finances and women’s health. When women overcome these obstacles this creates the opportunity for success.
Program Outcome Includes:
Holding 3 to 5 workshop for homeless women and women re entering society prison to encourage them to utilize technology for personal and professional development starting in October 2010 and ending in April 20111.
To hold a one day conference for homeless omen and women re entering society from prison by April 2011 and provide information and resource on the areas of employment, personal finances and women’s health.
