Inspirations from an Everyday Woman

Posted by Dress for Success Midwest Professional Women's Group on October 14, 2010

Are you missing the obvious? Are you recognizing the possibilities before you? Are you seeking something that you already possess? Are you feeling lonely? What are you really missing?

My encouragement to you this month is to call upon one of your fellow sisters that has invited you to events, emailed, text-ed, called or asked and you haven’t responded. Make a conscious decision to take some time out and speak to her. There is probably something that you’ve been seeking, searching or waiting for that she has the ability to connect you with. Just taking a few moments to speak into another persons life can make a great difference for both of you!

Through October see how many unexpected relationships you can sow into and watch how beautiful your harvest is!

Inspirations from an Everyday Woman

Posted by Dress for Success Midwest Professional Women's Group on July 28, 2010

PWG brings us endless opportunities for growth especially through our guest speakers. Reflect on the quotes from these two wonderful women: Khrys Vaughn says, “What’s in your hand?” and Erin Joy reminds us “You are what you’ve been looking for!”

Ladies, we all need to begin OWNING the gifts, talents, skills and abilities that we already possess! Do you truly own what’s already in your hand? Are you using all of your skills to launch that business you’ve been dreaming about? Like Erin told us, “you ARE what you’ve been looking for!”
Make a list of all of your gifts, talents, skills and abilities. Then next to each of them write down the last time you actually used them. Let’s make a conscious effort to maximize all the greatness that we have been given. And don’t forget to encourage your fellow sisters to capitalize on theirs as well! We ARE powerful beyond measure!!

“ME Time?”

Posted by Dress for Success Midwest Professional Women's Group on July 25, 2010

Ladies when was the last time that you scheduled some “ME Time?”
Wait! Do you even know what “ME Time” is?
You can easily remember “ME Time” as Meaningful Enjoyment for yourself.
Have you pampered yourself lately? Well the time is NOW! Ladies, if we don’t take care of ourselves on a regular basis we may start to fall apart. Now others may not see it from the outside- but inside mentally, emotionally, and/or spiritually you may be withering away. Let’s all start today. If it’s 10 minutes a day or a couple of hours a week, it doesn’t matter how long you take or even what you do. The key is to purposefully schedule some “ME Time” to take care of yourself or else you won’t do it.
Women tend to put their own needs behind those of their family and friends. It is very fulfilling to be a giver, but simply don’t forget to give unto yourself. Your “ME Time” doesn’t even have to cost you any money, it may just give you some peace and relaxation. Get a manicure, go for a walk, read a book, meditate, even take a bubble bath, or start moving toward that dream that you put aside. So don’t wait another minute- grab your calendar and claim your “ME Time.” now!

Inspirations from an Everyday Woman

Posted by Dress for Success Midwest Professional Women's Group on July 25, 2010

Sometimes it’s lonely at the top…

And that’s why sometimes it’s lonely at the top… When I stand up in the boat just seems to rock. When pressure comes, but my persistence won’t let me stop. Cause my ambition and drive within me launch harder than a rocket about to take flight… I am strong in His might. I will soar like the eagles and spread my wings, setting forth and accomplishing ALL my dreams. But even though on my bed I sit and see no one lying beside me, I know He’s rising. He’s rising up on the inside of me. He’s shining bright for all men to see. I will give credit where credit is due. Glory be to God, all glory be unto you! Sometime it’s lonely at the top…
